The cello is explored through processes that blur the boundary between control and chaos. Sounds are enfolded in quiet yet constant distortions (buzzing, squeaking, breathing, the touch of fingers on the strings) - the promise of event is delayed, “suspended”, magnifying the force of musical activity on the micro-level.
The framing of sounds in a seemingly self-contained field of audibility unfolds to reveal elements which cannot be perceived as self-contained units of information - disturbing the idea of pictorial accuracy (dal vero) as sounds become more dynamic through their relationship one another.
